The album illustrates the stages in the construction of the world's highest railroad line, documenting key locations such as the Paso de Uspallata, Tucumán and the Puente del Inca. It highlights scenes of daily life, sugar production, interactions with indigenous peoples (Matacos and Chiriguanos), and technical advances, notably the Transandin railroad and its infrastructure.
