Very fine aquatint on paper, hand-colored highlights, notably white, approx. 495 x 378 mm. mounted on 582 x 462 mm. cardboard, with painted black and gold borders (small scratch on the motif at upper left).
On verso, a modern handwritten note in pencil attributes the work to Simon Daniel Lafond (1763-1831), and erroneously states that this plate was included as number 3 in the Recueil de paysages suisses published in 1797. The views of this waterfall that appear in the aforementioned collection are of a different composition.
