[Atlas]. [United Kingdom]. ROBERT DE VAUGONDY (Didier). Atlas britannique, composé de seize cartes A Paris, chez Fortin. 1778. In folio (49 x 34 cm.), title, 15 maps (4 of them folding), period boards, (binding as is, margins of title and some maps faded, title and 4 maps (1-3, 15) flying). Atlas of 15 maps conforms to the table despite the contradictory indication in the title. It consists of a title page with a table and 15 copper-engraved maps by E. Dussy, enhanced with colored borders detailing the British Isles and their historical and geographical divisions. Among these are a map of the environs of London and the Thames, a representation of the ancient kingdoms of Mercy and East-Angles, and maps of Scotland and its provinces, based on the works of Timothy Pont and Robert Gordon.
