[Paris]. ESNAULT (Jacques), ed. Nouveau plan routier de la v - Lot 98
[Paris]. ESNAULT (Jacques), ed. Nouveau plan routier de la ville de Paris et de ses faubourgs A Paris, chez Esnault, 1810. 1 copper-engraved folding map (approx. 18 x 11 cm.) 69 x 106 cm. (unfolded), publisher's boards, title label on upper cover (lightly browned folds with small cracks).
Esnault's map provides an accurate representation of the French capital at the time. The city's 12 town halls have colored boundaries. It details the main districts of Paris, as well as its faubourgs, the outlying areas that extend beyond the city's historic core. Streets, boulevards and major thoroughfares are clearly identified, with different colors to make them easier to find. The Seine, which crosses the city, is punctuated by numerous bridges linking the two banks, underlining the river's central role in the organization of Paris.
