[France]. [GENDRON (Pedro)]. El Reyno de Francia y sus Paises Confinantes hasta la Exstension de la Antigua Galia. En Londres, [ca. 1754?]. 1 copper-engraved map, 46 x 64 cm. on 52.5 x 70 cm. sheet, hand-colored (fine copy despite restored cracks). Very rare map of France with Spanish nomenclature and title, one of 8 published in London and attributed to Pedro Gendron, although their direct connection with the latter remains uncertain. These maps, lacking publisher's name and date, make it impossible to determine whether they emanate directly from Gendron or are the work of an unrelated publisher. Pedro Gendron, a Spanish cartographer of the mid-18th century, produced several maps, most likely for eventual atlas production, including maps of Spain, Portugal and the continents published between 1754 and 1756. He contributed to geographical works such as Méthodo Geográfico facil (1754) and Los Reynos de España y Portugal (1757), published in Paris and sold in Cádix and Lisbon.
