In-folio (approx. 61 x 44 cm.), 23 maps (of 24), contemporary marbled fawn basane, 7-rib spine, gilt title, marbled edges (binding worn but solid, general map of Languedoc lacking, marginal defects on a few maps including wetting and wormholes, a few repairs, cracks without missing folds on some maps). Important suite of 23 maps of dioceses, copper-engraved by Aldring, the letter by Bourgoin, based on topographical surveys carried out as part of the Description générale de la France, under the direction of Cassini. Each plate is printed on several sheets.
