Bernard MELOIS (1939-2023) Embracing couple walking Large sculpture in welded sheet metal, enameled in blue and white with mauve shades. Height: 194 cm Note: our sculpture appears in the 1971 film Le Casse directed by Henri Verneuil, starring Jean-Paul Belmondo and Omar Sharif. Bernard Mélois' sculptures are crafted in enamelled sheet metal using a personal welding technique, the fruit of the artist's relentless research. In most of his creations, the artist starts from a sketch/drawing to create the metal framework of his subjects. Then begins a unique game of construction with the shapes and colors of these salvaged materials - saucepans, ladles, colanders, funnels - and other everyday objects, which he uses, shapes, cuts, heats and welds to form the desired subject.
