VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, "Cercle" model, 1980s - Lot 163
VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, "Cercle" model, 1980s Set comprising three circular lapel clip brooches in yellow gold 750‰ with grooved and gadrooned decoration, in two different sizes, with "magic closure". Signed "VCA", dated "© (19) 88" and numbered "B1345 R14", "B3378 R15" and "B3378 R27". French work, diamond-shaped hallmark of Atelier PÉRY & Fils. Diameters: 3.2 and 4.5cm. P. Total gross weight: 55g. Created in 1930, the "Cercle" clip is a key piece in the history of Van Cleef & Arpels. Adapted to the fashion and preciousness of the Art Deco era, the clip offers an infinite number of ways to wear it, on clothes, hats or as an evening bag clasp. The Atelier des frères Rubel was the manufacturer of this model of clip, which could feature a wide variety of decorations and precious materials. In the 1980s, the House revisited this type of "Clip" with Atelier Péry, adapting it to current tastes. The set presented here is the archetype.
