This edition has been "revised, corrected and enlarged" since the first appeared in 1605. It contains most of the Spanish proverbs (with their French translations). This work of paremiology is very useful for understanding Sancho Pança, who expresses himself only through proverbs, thus summing up popular wisdom. Along with Rosset, César Oudin was the first French translator of Le Quichotte.
