THE ONLY KNOWN EARLY EROTIC ENGRAVING OF DON QUIXOTE - Lot 132
THE ONLY KNOWN EARLY EROTIC ENGRAVING OF DON QUIXOTE ENGRAVER ICONNU. LE CHEVALIER A LA TRISTE FIGURE. [Paris ?], unpublished, [1800 ?]. Small etching plate, 10 cm x 11 cm. Traces of folding. The scene is set in a stable, where we see Don Quixote in a sad posture, spear on the ground (symbolic), in front of Dulcinea's bare, blossoming "rump", while Sancho displays insolent health! This extremely rare erotic engraving is not recorded anywhere.
