DELVAU (Alfred). COLLECTION DES ROMANS DE CHEVALERIE mis en - Lot 126

DELVAU (Alfred). COLLECTION DES ROMANS DE CHEVALERIE mis en prose française moderne, avec illustrations. Paris, Bachelin-Deflorenne, 1869. 4 volumes in-4, publisher's gray brochures. Each novel is paginated separately (approx. 48 pp). A good copy, despite two tears in the corners of the covers of volumes II and III. Popular collection of the principal romances of chivalry, here translated and abridged. Includes most of those in Don Quixote's library: Ogier le Danois; Quatre fils Aymon; Huon de Bordeaux; Lancelot du Lac; extracts from Amadis; Flores et Blanchefleur; Gerard de Nevers; Geneviève de Brabant... but also tales and short stories by Voltaire. Very rare popular edition illustrated with woodcuts by Mettais.
