One volume in-12 (16 ff, 264 folios poorly numbered), full wine morocco, Jansenist ribbed spine, cold framing on the boards decorated with a gilt super-libris, interior lace, gilt edges (Binding signed Brugalla dated 1946). A very fine copy. Third edition of the famous picaresque novel by one of the best-known actors of the period. Based on his experience as a travelling actor between 1600 and 1603. This work is considered one of the most entertaining in Spanish literature. This company of actors recalls the customs of the picaros. Often despised, they were protected by the people and lived from day to day. The author describes the daily lives of Rios, Ramirez, Solano and himself.
