The Atelier Jean & Pierre BELLIN was particularly active from the 1960's to the 1990's, creating spectacular, voluminous jewelry and timepieces using engraved hard stones.
Their taste for decorative stones and color can also be seen in their series of medallion pendants dedicated to the signs of the zodiac. In the 1970s, a real craze for astrological signs led to these motifs becoming recurrent in the jewelry collections of the great houses of Place Vendôme. There are several unmissable series from Cartier, Chaumet, Fred, Mauboussin, Patek Philippe, Tiffany & Co, and Van Cleef & Arpels...
Jean & Pierre BELLIN's Assyrian and Egyptian-inspired series, emblematic of the 1970s for the dimensions of the medals - pendants that were very fashionable at the time - is distinguished by the use of textured gold and by backgrounds of various colored hard stones, changing according to the sign represented (malachite, onyx, sodalite, tiger's eye...).
