LORRAINE, Henriette de (1605-1660), daughter of François II de Vaudémont, Duke of Lorraine and sister of Charles IV of Lorraine. L.A.S. addressed to Jean-Baptiste COLBERT. S.l.n.d. 2 pp. in-4. Central fold very slightly restored. Henriette de Lorraine asks Colbert to intercede on behalf of Messieurs de Bragelonne "for a great affair they have with the King's council, on which the division of their entire fortune depends". She asks for Colbert's protection "with all possible urgency, for these are people so strongly involved in all my interests that I am very happy to have the opportunity to show them how much I share in theirs [...]. I hope, Sir, that you will not refuse me this grace [...]". Fine signature.
