[BOTANY - DAUPHINE]. BONJEAN, Joseph Louis (1780-1846), bota - Lot 115
[BOTANY - DAUPHINE]. BONJEAN, Joseph Louis (1780-1846), botanist, vice-president of the Société Linnéenne de Savoie and vice-director of the Jardin botanique de Chambéry. Manuscript most probably written in Joseph-Louis Bonjean's hand, entitled "Plantes de la flore du Dauphiné demandées à M. Liottard par Joseph Louis Bonjean de Chambery" and "Plantes dont je désirerais plusieurs échantillons de chacune, quo que je les ait déjà". S.l.n.d. 3 pp. in-4. One tiny tear (1 cm).
Very long list containing some 350 plant species from the Dauphiné region, requested from Claude LIOTTARD (1766-1841), botanist from Grenoble and director of the Grenoble Botanical Garden, founded by his father and Dominique Villars. The last leaf bears this remark: "Although I would have 20 to 30 of each of those marked with two + there would not be too many, especially. I would like you to send me what you can of these 12 species in preference to the note opposite, of which I would like 1 or 2 samples of each. These 12 species must complete a considerable shipment that I have to make".
A very interesting document.
