ESCOULA Jean (1851-1911). French sculptor born in Bagneres-de-Bigorre, he became a practitioner in the workshops of Carpeaux and Rodin.
Photographic album featuring views of the sculptor's main works, including his famous "Baton de Vieillesse", which can be seen in Parc Montsouris, Paris, or his "Bucheron des Pyrénées" or "Chloé endormie".
After a full-length photographic portrait of the artist, the album contains 44 photographs of his work, mounted on strong cardboard, the last of which even shows the artist at work.
The whole set is bound in black half-chagrin, slightly dusted. Two additional photographs, including one of "La Pyrénéenne", have been included.
