[Jean-André PERREAU]. Country scenes from the park of Versai - Lot 79
[Jean-André PERREAU]. Country scenes from the park of Versailles.
London, 1790.
In-12, contemporary porphyry calf, gilt roulette frame on covers, ornate smooth spine, red morocco title-piece, chased edges, marbled edges.
Engraved title, 172 pp. 2 free engravings.
The work contains a series of dialogued scenes in praise of nature and virtue. The two free figures seem quite incongruous to illustrate this bucolic text.
Covers and corners slightly rubbed, endpapers renewed.
Gay III, 1081.
A charming copy of this little-known work.
