In-12 oblong (18.5 x 20 cm.), anise-green box, smooth spine, cold title in ling, top cover decorated with a piece of gold embroidered cloth with foliage motifs, pearl-gray endpaper with pearly shamrock motifs, untrimmed, covers. and spine preserved, asorti half-box banded slipcase, author and title gilt on spine [Mercher] (slipcase corners a little rubbed and spine a little faded; freckles). First edition of this typewritten poem, illustrated with photographic reproductions of two oriental carpets, repeated and partly placed head to tail, the text sometimes overlapping the image. Limited edition of 11 copies. Splendid binding by Henri Mercher (1912-1976), one of the greatest French bookbinders of the 20th century, and one of the most innovative in terms of decoration. Dated 1974.
