(table), contemporary glazed fawn basane, 5-ribbed spine, tan calf title-pieces, ornate caissons, gilt fillet and dotted edges, interior roulette, gilt edges, restorations including to headpieces and corners (2 corners rubbed, small stains to boards, small snags to lower board). A fine copy of this counterfeit of the original edition published in Geneva in 1748. Published in Lyon by the brothers Benoît and Pierre Duplain and printed by Aimé de La Roche, it bears the false address of Leyden. Early handwritten ex-dono on title. Modern Theo Koerper bookplate.
