In-folio (approx. 46 x 63 cm.), leaves, title, 54 plates (soiling, russeting and wetness on some plates, marginal tears on Randolph Viaduct plate (approx. 9 cm.), small loss on St. Paul Viaducts plate). The only atlas in Louis le Rond's original edition of public works in North America. This copy consists of a title page and 54 plates; it seems that 75 plates are required (according to the cat. of the Bibl. des Ponts et Chaussées). Most of the plates are detailed engraved architectural renderings of bridges and viaducts. The remaining plates are photographs. Some of the bridges and viaducts include those at Poughkeepsie, Niagara Falls, Randolph. Provenance: bibl. des Ponts et Chaussées (stamp).
