Danish silversmith Christian FJERDINGSTAD (1891-1968) distinguished himself as the man responsible for Christofle's creation of silver-plated and pewter pieces, his signature creation being his precious "Cygne" sauceboat designed in 1925. He also devoted himself to the practice of tabletterie, an art found in his rare jewelry creations. His passion for nature and ornithology is reflected in his jewelry creations. His combinations of silver, gold and natural and animal materials - such as wood, boxwood, amber, horn, tortoiseshell and ivory - are particularly remarkable.
