National Guard officer's saber known as the "petit Montmorency", brass hilt, openwork shell, decorated with a helmeted goddess, possibly Athena, long-tailed skullcap terminating in an empanelled helmet, leather-covered, filigreed spindle; blade engraved one-third; length 86 cm. (No scabbard; wear to hilt). Revolutionary period. Fairly good condition.
