Monsieur's late 18th century rifleman's troop saber, model 1777, brass clamshell hilt with crowned arms of France, a flaming grenade on either side, leather-covered, watermarked fuse, leather poucier; flat, straight blade, unmarked, length 96 cm; leather scabbard with two brass fittings, oval button cap with base, iron stinger; overall length 112.5 cm. (Old leather, posterior). Late 18th century, revolutionary period (1789/1792). Fairly good condition.
