Saint Catherine of Alexandria in sculpted limestone with remains of polychromy, cavity on back. Standing, the saint wears a headdress encircling her hair, a dress laced across her chest and a mantle trimmed with a braid adorned with rhomboid decoration and pearls, one side of which returns to the front; she holds an open book in her right hand and rests her other hand on the sword of her martyrdom. Champagne or Lorraine, circa 1500 Height: 69 cm. erosion and some missing parts Provenance : - Former collection of Adrien Mithouard (1864 -1919), former President of the Council of Paris. - by descent
