At the start of her career, from 1930 onwards, she appeared in films as a young leading lady, soon to become a leading lady, under the direction of the greatest directors: Abel Gance, Julien Divivier, Jean Delanoy, Yves Allegret, Claude Autant-Lara, Jean Cocteau. In the theater, first as a member of the Comédie Française, she played the classics as well as Giraudoux, Cocteau, Tennessee Williams, George Bernard Shaw... Her partners and friends included Jean Louis Barrault and Jean Marais. Edwige Feuillère embodies, along with other actresses of her generation (Danielle Darrieux, Michèle Morgan), the artistic talent marked by French intelligence and elegance.
