PROUDHON, Pierre-Joseph (1809-1865). Set of 2 documents and 5 envelopes. -M.A. S.l.n.d. Large oblong in-8. Very interesting text on religion and solitude: "And what a ridiculous idea to represent the Creator, after having given to each locality its particular assortment of animals and plants, unable to provide it with its man and limiting himself to making on some summit of the Himalayas an Adam with his companion, from whose marriage would then have descended all the peoples destined to fill the immense solitude? Does not the ineptitude of the conception testify here against the solidity of the system? [...] ". He ends with these words: "To be done: Considerations on the Unity of the species and the independence of the races to be verified in Humanity". -P.A.S. Brussels, July 29, 1862. 1 p. in-8 oblong. "I, the undersigned, declare that no marriage contract exists between me and Euphrasie-Louise Piégard, whom I married on December 31, 1819 [...]". -4 autograph envelopes addressed to his great friend Auguste Rolland, in Brussels.
