MANN, Thomas (1875-1955). L.D.S. addressed to Mr. Flewell. R - Lot 182
MANN, Thomas (1875-1955). L.D.S. addressed to Mr. Flewell. Rhode Island, May 27, 1938. 1 p. in-4. In German. Interesting letter from the author of Death in Venice written at the time when Thomas Mann had joined his brother Heinrich in the United States, to flee Nazism. The novelist thanks his addressee for his last letter and the emotion it caused him. [The troubles and doubts you have today, your fate and performance will change in the course of time, with growing strength and maturation, will calm down and blossom".
