GUTINGUER, Ulric (1787-1866). Set of 3 L.A.S. Rouen and s.l. - Lot 175
GUTINGUER, Ulric (1787-1866). Set of 3 L.A.S. Rouen and s.l. 14 October 1827, 11 January 1857, 13 October 1858, 6 pp. in-4 or in-8. Letters addressed to his printer and to a poet, about his publications in Le Corsair and the care given to the typographical execution of his works. "I am going to show you all the abysses of my own loves: by reading your charming verses of à c'matin (language of bribeuf) in the Corsair and not far from my prose to Alexandre Weill, I thought that you would want to send him (to the Corsair) those which you addressed to me a month ago. With a word (so to speak) of the property, though it is not for sale, and my quatrain answer to yours, I hope it is modest, but z'bold, and spare me, knowing me to be your old friend as well as new. Put this in your sauce, the best of all". He wrote "the new epigraphs" for the proofs that he will correct and send with a coupon. He evokes Victor Hugo of Hippolyte Castille, the Gazette of France and adds, to a fellow-member " [...] to say our word of prose: Poetry. It is in it that I rest [...]".
