Unbreakable Bébé Jumeau, called “Portrait Deluxe” in size 2 - Lot 67
Unbreakable Bébé Jumeau, called “Portrait Deluxe” in size 2 This early bébé by Jumeau dates from the late 1870s. He has an intact head in pressed bisque, marked 2 at the base of the neck (the number is not very legible because a little off-center), very pale complexion, closed mouth, stationary enamel eyes cut in almond shape with brown iris, very finely painted eyelashes and eyebrows, pierced ears, a chestnut mohair wig on a cork pate, an unsigned ball jointed body with stiff wrists and a blue-gray silk factory original Jumeau dress on antique underwear, a dark plush hat trimmed with a silk ribbon matching the dress and a pair of unmarked shoes, typical of these primitive models. It measures 20’’.
