[INDONESIA]. Logbook entitled "Suitte du journal depuis le départ de Manille NIII 1755". Departure on March 25, 1755 - the manuscript ends on Thursday, May 22, 1755. Manuscript notebook of 22 pp. 1/2 in-folio. Exciting detailed daily accounts of the weather, winds, maneuvers of the ship (departures, anchorages, coordinates, etc.), topography of the places (sandbanks, bays, etc.) and important events on board the ship. From Manila, the ship sailed to the Molucca Islands, then to the Ile de France. March 25, 1755: "After our boats were back on board, we set sail [...] in the afternoon to moor under the old Portuguese fort on the Solor island [Indonesia], the winds for the tide were fresh at 1:34 a.m. [...] sand and gravel, and then I went back to mooring. The pavilion of the fort [...] the village is under the said fort at 3 cables from us [...] ". The captain then describes the geography of the island, etc. Names and inscriptions in Spanish, from two different hands on the first page "Padre Don Estevan de Melo" and "el piloto don Phelipe Qui [?] Very interesting travelogue and exploration of Indonesia, in French. We join 6 old maps, pasted on modern strong paper, of which 3 folding maps. "New Wales", "Masafuero", "New Guinea", etc.
