Dracula's father announces to his correspondent the closing of the Lyceum Theatre for twenty days and the time slots given to the artists to recover their fees. Stoker was the manager of the famous London theater between 1878 and 1904. He acted as a friend and secretary of the owner of the theater: Sir Henry Irving, who would have inspired the character of Dracula.
