TURGOT, Anne Robert Jacques (1727-1781).... - Lot 144 - Gros & Delettrez
TURGOT, Anne Robert Jacques (1727-1781). L.A. addressed to Monsieur Caillard. Paris, April 12, 1772. 1 p. 1/4. Address on the back. Hole without damage to the text on the second leaf. Turgot, who was then intendant of the generality of Limoges, where Caillard (1737-1807) had assisted him before entering the diplomatic service, tries to find a situation for the latter. He informs him of Mr. Trudaine's irresolution and fears that "Mr. de B. will not be able to return to the career that [he] had begun". "I beg you to inform me of your progress, of your projects, of the steps I can take to make them succeed [...] have no doubt of the interest I will always take in your happiness". Caillard was the secretary of the Count of Boisgelin, minister of France in Parma.
