Set of 5 documents: 4 L.S. and a letter addressed to his New York bankers bearing several autograph mentions of Necker (address, 4 lines, date, etc). Paris and Coppet, 1777 to 1797. 10 pp. in-folio and in-4. One letter trimmed in the right margin. Necker expresses the will of King Louis XVI "not to find culprits" in the troubles of Sedan if calm is restored thanks to the "wise dispositions of M. Marshal de Broglie"; he reports on negotiations between the King and the chapter of the cathedral of Metz; he pays attention to the "interests that are due to the treasurers and munitionaries of the Navy"; he writes, from his Swiss residence, to his bankers in New York (Le Roy and Bayard) about his business affairs: "[...] Among the various uses of funds that you have indicated to me, I have paid particular attention to the shares of the Bank of New-York. I beg you to tell me if it is true that their solidity is dependent on the solidity of the Bank of the United States because it has a lot of funds on the latter [...]", etc.
