LESDIGUIÈRES, François de Bonne de Créquy (Blanchefort), 3rd duke of (ca. 1596-1677), governor and lieutenant-general of Dauphiné, grandson of the great Constable. Set of 6 letters including 5 L.S. (four autograph compliments) and 1 L.A.S., all addressed to M. de Bayane. Grenoble and Paris, June 6, July 20 and August 3, 1649, April 3 and May 20, 1651, 1658, Addresses on the backs of the second leaves, red or black wax seals with the arms of the Bonne family (Gules with a golden lion; on a chief couched in azure, three silver roses) and links partly preserved. Lesdiguières went to Paris for an assembly of the nobility and announced that the Regent, Anne of Austria (1601-1666), would convene the long-awaited Estates-General in "next October" (1651). He mentions the Bishop of Valence, the King's service, the death of the Count of Bourg, etc. Interesting correspondence.
