FRANCE, Christine dite Chrestienne de (1606-1663), daughter of Henri IV and Marie de Médicis, sister of Louis XIII. She became duchess of Savoy by marrying Victor-Amédée I. L.S. with compliment and 7 autograph lines, addressed to M. de Malessie, governor of Pignerol. Turin, October 6, 1649. 1 p. in-folio. Slightly pale ink. About a certain Prosper Fausson, refugee in Pignerol "in order to avoid punishment for various capital crimes he has committed. Christine de France demands in her name and in that of her son that the "malfactors" be punished. "I assure myself that you will do me this pleasure willingly". She demands that the madman be delivered to her. Christine de France adds in her own handwriting "I conjure you to want to make arrest this person [...]".
