"Egyptian lamp". Bronze with triple patina silver, gold and brown signed on the terrace. Bronze size : 23x13,5cm. Total height : 40 cm. Model elaborated in reduction by the artist from a state order of 1850: "Marabout holding a caiman between his legs": four elements ordered to carry a porphyry table of the Egyptian museum, today preserved in the Musée d'Orsay. An early cast during the artist's lifetime, published by Fremiet himself, listed under n° 46 in the catalogue of the first Fremiet edition. Mounted as a lamp by the artist, adapted to electricity, working condition. Reference : Emmanuel Fremiet, la main et multiple Musée de Grenoble.
