DUMONT D'URVILLE, Jules (1790-1842), navigator and explorer. He discovered Terre-Adélie (1840) and the remains of the La Pérouse expedition, in Vanikoro. Dumont d'Urville lists three titles of views, taken from Cook: "Sauvage de l'île Mangea", Byron: "Moraï abandonné sur [?] Maldon" and Lapérouse: "Massacre des français à Maouna". -L.A.S. 14 1841. 1 p. in-8.
