[BOTANY - DAUPHINÉ]. BONJEAN, Joseph Louis... - Lot 277 - Gros & Delettrez
[BOTANY - DAUPHINÉ]. BONJEAN, Joseph Louis (1780-1846), botanist, vice-president of the Linnean Society of Savoy and vice-director of the Botanical Garden of Chambéry. Manuscript most probably written by Joseph-Louis Bonjean, entitled " Plantes de la flore du Dauphiné demandées à M. Liottard par Joseph Louis Bonjean de Chambery " and " Plantes dont je désirerais plusieurs échantillons de chacune, quo que je les ait déjà ". S.l.n.d. 3 pp. in-4. A tiny tear (1 cm). A very long list containing about 350 names of plant species of the Dauphiné, claimed from Claude LIOTTARD (1766-1841), botanist from Grenoble, director of the Botanical Garden of Grenoble, founded by his father and Dominique Villars. The last leaflet bears this remark: "Although I would have 20 to 30 of each of those marked with two + there would not be too many, especially. I ask you to do what you can of these 12 species in preference to the note below, of which I would like 1 or 2 samples of each. These 12 species must complete a considerable shipment that I have to make. Very interesting document.
