Maurice BOUVIOLLE (1893-1961)
95 x 105 cm Oil on canvas, signed lower right. Maurice BOUVIOLLE travelled to Algeria, and became famous as early as 1921. In 1922, he was awarded a silver medal at the Salon des Artistes algériens et orientalistes. Our painting is a major work of the artist by its composition, its quality and its size. The painting was painting in the morning, allowing Bouviolle to work on the colors of the Northern African sky before the heat of midday. The colors are bright pink, orange and white magnifying the blue of the sky. LG
