Autoportrait présumé Aquarelle, signée en bas à gauche. Et titrée «Myself» en bas. 23 x 19 cm Syrien né à Alexandrie en Egypte, Abraham Salame a été l'interprète auprès des forces britanniques, de Lord Exmouth, durant la négociation avec le Bey d'Alger, en 1816. Il fut l'auteur de "A narrative of the expedition to Algiers in the year 1816: under the command of the Right Hon. Admiral Lord Viscount Exmouth". ("Un récit de l'expédition d'Alger en l'an 1816: sous le commandement du très honorable. L'amiral Lord Exmouth vicomte".)
