Maurice GUIRAUD-RIVIERE (1881-1947) La Naïade - Rare and exceptional silver-plated bronze automobile mascot, signed and dated on the base Maurice Guiraud-Rivière 1919, numbered and dedicated on the tip n°1, for Mme. A. de Ricqlès. Mounted on a stopper. Height : 12cm Notes : The de Ricqlès family is still well known today for Ricqlès mint alcohol, invented in 1838 in the South of France by Heyman de Ricqlès. Armand de Ricqlès (1871 - 1931) took control of the company in 1905 and married Judith-Sarah (known as Juliette) Lioni (b. 1874). This mascot is dedicated to her, Mrs. A. de Ricqlès, founding president of the Œuvre de Solidarité franco-belge during the First World War. Related work : M. GUIRAUD-RIVIERE (1881-1947).
