1951 Cape Town Mediterranean Rally plaque (1st edition) Triangular-shaped lithographed aluminum plate, number 41 painted white Mention Société PROCOL. Saint-Denis - France, bottom left, and La H, bottom right 35 x 41cm (Condition of use) Our plate was probably issued in 1950, in preparation for the 1951 rally, as indicated by the year on the plate. Number 41 was assigned to Messrs. J. DESPARMET and R.M. AUBERT, entered on a JEEP DELAHAYE VLR (Véhicule Léger de Reconnaissance). The crew finished the rally in 13th place. The Rallye Alger-Le Cap (or Rallye Méditerranée-Le Cap) was an automobile rally competition organized by the Amis du Sahara et de l'Eurafrique with the support of various African Automobile Clubs, including the Association Sportive de l'Automobile Club d'Alger, under the supervision of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile.
