It was first put on the road on July 2, 1993. This G40 was sold new to the VAG S.A. Saône garage in Chalon-sur-Saône. Its first owner was a woman, a health care executive: Madame Marie-Pierre Vielliard. The story goes that her husband gave it to her as a gift. Naturally, she left the car in its original condition and configuration - a rare case for G40s, which are often quickly tweaked or modified - and used it regularly until 1999. That year, the Volkswagen dealership stamp showed our Polo G40 had 28,770 km. Sadly, the car fell ill, was put into warm storage and Madame left us in 2019. Our current owner, an enlightened collector of youngtimers in perfect condition, purchased the car in July 2022. Having owned a Polo G40 in the past, he knows the model well and is astounded by its state of preservation. It is in its delightful original Tornado Red hue, with the varnish still shiny as when it left the factory. There are no nicks or scratches to report. The black plastic bumpers are sparkling and well aligned. Original semi-tinted headlamps and taillights and red G40 logos are in perfect condition. Inside, the green-and-purple-checked "Le Mans" upholstery is in very... German taste. It looks like a 1992 ski suit! The coloring is perfect, the fabric taut, and the beading on the sport seats firmly in place. The simple dashboard has stood the test of time and shows no signs of wear. There's a sports steering wheel and a small rev counter topped by a water thermometer. The original option label can be found in the trunk. The engine bay is also intact, all the decals are in place and everything is original, as is the car's general condition. In use, it has shown great health and sound behavior. The car comes with its full original Volkswagen booklet, including: the service booklet with six dealership stamps, the operating instructions, the code of good conduct, the identity statement for the cheque account used at the time of ordering, the booklet showing the addresses of VW dealerships... This G40 is a unique proposition on the market, as no other model currently offers such low mileage and such a high standard of presentation.
