Ilias LALAOUNIS for ZOLOTAS, Years 1960-1970 Pair of chased yellow gold 750‰ earrings decorated with lions' heads, tongues out, terminated by two scrolls underlined by a twist. Clip-on systems for unpierced ears, the snowshoes in yellow gold 750‰. Signed "LALAOUNIS" and annotated "K22". Greek work, Responsibility hallmark of the Maison ZOLOTAS. Dimensions: 2.9x2.2cm. P. Gross weight: 29.3 g. With gray moire case and green suede travel pouch by Maison ZOLOTAS. Ilias LALAOUNIS (1920-2013) joined the firm of his uncle Xénophon ZOLOTAS in the 1940s. In 1968, Lalaounis became independent and founded his own design house, inspired by Antiquity, Hellenistic and Minoan-Mycenaean civilization.
