In-8, blue-gray percaline, royal coat of arms gilt on first cover, spine decorated with gilt and cold filets, marbled edges, red ex-libris stamp on verso of faux-title and title, crowned numeral on title. 8 pp, 191 pp, 4 engravings. First edition. The frontispiece depicts the entrance to the parc-aux-cerfs. The Duchesse de Châteauroux and the Marquise de Pompadour, mistresses of Louis XV, are depicted in early Revolutionary costume and headdress. This copy is complete with the free plate depicting banker Peixotte with Mlle Dervieu. Spine faded, a few freckles. Cohen, 182; Gay III, 631; Pia, 1079; Dutel A-828**.
