The memoirs of the young Amaranthe Duplessis, who felt violent passions from an early age. Her libertine apprenticeship took place in a convent. Once out, she was seduced by a soldier and fled to Paris. The book contains some curious details about Destainville, the famous matron of the time, with whom Amaranthe enters in chapter XV.
