LANG, Fritz (1890-1976), naturalized American... - Lot 19 - Gros & Delettrez
LANG, Fritz (1890-1976), naturalized American director. L.D.S. addressed to his "Dear Madeleine" [most likely Madeleine Ozeray]. Beverly Hills, California, March 9, 1966. 1 p. in-4. On "Fritz Lang" letterhead. About a horoscope sent to him by his correspondence, the content of which seems very realistic: "[...] all the things that Mr. A.B. has dictated to you are really very close to the truth. - The only thing that frightened me was the resemblance of my horoscope with that of the General. [I will bring the horoscope with me to Paris so that we can talk about it again in detail. He evokes his trip to France, "I would be delighted to see you again in LA FOLLE DE CHAILLOT, if the play is still on. Lotte Eisner, whom you know, came to Hollywood and spoke very highly of your role. My regards to Frosch and Zorba. Lang is very ill (Asian flu "which has been raging in Hollywood") "suddenly the fever returns in a stronger way than before. The eyes burn, one is unable to think clearly [...]". Madeleine Ozeray played the role of Josephine, the Madwoman of Saint-Sulpice, in La Folle de Chaillot, by Jean Giraudoux.
