GUIMARD, Hector (1867-1942), French architect,... - Lot 16 - Gros & Delettrez
GUIMARD, Hector (1867-1942), French architect, leading figure of Art Nouveau. L.A.S. Paris, October 6, 1901. 1 p. in-8. Beautiful Art Nouveau letterhead of Guimard "Architecte d'Art - Castel Béranger 16 rue Lafontaine". Faint spotting on the back. Guimard reserves one of the apartments [probably in his Castel Béranger] for a friend "I got the tenant who had stopped the apartment we both talked about to take another one. So it's understood that I'm keeping it for you. Well! Your article has been stopped by Formigi?" He greets the realization of a bridge at the Villette: "Have you seen the beautiful bridge of the Vilette [sic]? [...] ". Guimard specifies that he has seen Georges Bans (1870-1913), a French aeronaut and journalist, founder of La Critique, administrator of numerous newspapers (notably Art Décoratif) and a great Dreyfus supporter.
