"About the inauguration of the monument of Mr. Penquer. It is one of the sweetest satisfactions of the artist to feel loved in his works. Bartholdi had made the medallion for the tomb of Auguste Salaün-Penquer (1809-1882), mayor of Brest and famous doctor. About a frame: "I regret that the framer took so long, I had him pressed. I will write that we do the high speed shipping and everything possible to get the frame to you in time [...]". -P.S. Register sheet [of condolences: funeral of Admiral Jaurès in 1889, according to a note] signed by many personalities of the time: Bartholdi, Lesseps, Scheurer-Kestner, etc. Beautiful and large signature. -Original photograph in business card format (9 x 5,6 cm) of the bronze equestrian statue of Vercingetorix realized by Bartholdi, and intended for the city of Clermont-Ferrand. Vintage print mounted on cardboard printed with the name of the photographer "Berthier". Autograph signature of Bartholdi in black ink.
