Object : Mask Ethnicity: N'Zebi Description: Ochre color. Scarifications in relief, vertical line on the forehead and cheeks. Headdress in shell. Decorative mask, made by the N'Zebi-Wandji, of Punu inspiration. This type of mask is relatively recent (50 to 60 years old) and was made by the N'Zebi-Wandji to be hung on the outside walls of their huts in order to imitate Europeans. These sculptures do not have open eyes and resemble the Lumbou-Punou and Tsangwui masks to which they are related. There were no masks of this type before the arrival of the Europeans.
